Nancy.....you must read the book 'The Five People You Meet In Heaven' ~ You will then have an idea of why you're here, and how you've touched the lives of others without even realizing/knowing it!

Anneli Rufus's book changed my life. I'm pushing to live happily alone and to be focused on the business of finishing college. Not all but most other things are just pretense and illusion.

You've always had a gift for asking the good questions. Your son's right, next time ask them. I bet they'd be delighted to share.

One excellent exercise is to go to a place like a coffee shop or a cafe and just watch people as you have done. Then take your observations and create characters and story around them.

Great questions you asked yourself. We should all be so observant!

I love the way you write Mom!! What a great gift you have with words, inspiring actually!! The next couple you see, the older gentlemen with his bride, you should ask them what their secret is. Their answer might breath a secret to your heart. I went to a wedding this weekend. One of my good friends stood at the alter, just he and his women in white. When his time came to share his vows he was silenced. He tried a number of times to speak the words he'd been practicing relentlessly for weeks, but no sound echoed from his throat. He was so overcome that when he tried, and he did try, he couldn't force the words over his lips. He had to pause for what felt like ten minutes and finally he said his "I do's". What makes someone so over come by feeling they lose the ability to speak, barely able to stand? I think it's the same thing that whispers in the ear of the 80 year old man who has held thousands of doors for his forever young and beautiful wife of 57 years.

Oh, they loved and lived all right, with a passion as bright as the sun, probably through times that all they had to their names were each other.

I want to be them when I get old and grey.
